(2) Highway maintenance and service equipment or vehicles owned by the State or a local jurisdiction, or operating under a contract with the State or a local jurisdiction, may display green flashing lights only in accordance with § 22–218(c)(6) of this subtitle. (b) (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this subsection, a participant in a citizens on patrol group or other community watch group may display on a vehicle while on patrol in the community one or more amber flashing lights. (2) An amber flashing light: (i) May only be displayed if allowed by a law enforcement agency designated by the governing body of the applicable county or municipal corporation; and (ii) Shall be extinguished at the request of a uniformed law enforcement officer. (3) The law enforcement agency may require that a sign meeting specifications set by the agency appear on the vehicle that identifies the group conducting the patrol while the amber flashing light is displayed.
