Los vehículos lentos deben tener un emblema especial para que otros conductores los vean. Pero hay ciertas reglas sobre dónde y cuándo usar este emblema.

Es como cuando usas un chaleco reflectante al andar en bicicleta por la noche para que los coches te vean mejor. Este emblema cumple una función similar para los vehículos lentos.

Ejemplo Práctico

Imagina que Juan está manejando su tractor en una carretera rural. Él debe poner el emblema de vehículo lento en su tractor para que los coches que vienen detrás lo vean y mantengan distancia. Sin embargo, si Juan está remolcando una caravana que no obstruye el emblema, no necesita poner otro emblema en la caravana.

189.830 Use of emblem or reflective tape restricted -- Exemption from requirement. (1) The slow-moving vehicle emblem shall be restricted to the uses specified herein and the use on any other type of vehicle or on other objects is prohibited. (2) The slow-moving vehicle emblem shall not be required on trailers or other drawn vehicles whi ch do not obstruct the slow -moving vehicle emblem required on the towing vehicle. (3) Highway construction or maintenance vehicles and public utility vehicles shall not require slow-moving vehicle emblems when being guarded by flagmen or flares. (4) The use of slow-moving vehicle emblems or alternative reflective tape, as required under KRS 189.820, shall be in addition to any other reflective or lighting devices required by law.
