Regulación de Silenciadores y Ruido en Vehículos

Explicación Simple

Todos los vehículos deben tener un silenciador que reduzca el ruido del motor. No puedes quitarlo o modificarlo para que haga más ruido. Si lo haces, podrías tener problemas con la ley.

Es como cuando cocinas y necesitas usar una tapa en la olla para que no se derrame el agua. Sin la tapa, todo hace más ruido y se descontrola, al igual que un coche sin silenciador.

Ejemplo Práctico

Imagina que Juan tiene un coche viejo que hace mucho ruido. Decide quitar el silenciador para que suene más fuerte mientras conduce por la ciudad. Un policía lo detiene y le explica que eso es ilegal y que debe tener el silenciador original para no molestar a los demás.

Penalidades

Si no cumples con esta ley, podrías recibir una multa o sanción por operar un vehículo con un sistema de escape modificado.

189.140 Mufflers -- Noise regulation. (1) Every motor vehicle with an internal -combustion, steam or air motor shall be equipped with a suitable and efficient muffler. No person while on a highway shall operate a motor vehicle with the muffler cut out or removed. No cutout shall be so arranged or c onnected as to permit its operation or control by the driver of any motor vehicle while in position for driving. (2) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle or an off highway vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle. The original muffler shall comply with all of the noise requirements of KRS Chapter 224 and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto.
