Es como un campamento de verano donde los jóvenes aprenden habilidades para la vida, pero en este caso, es para ayudar a los prisioneros a superar sus problemas con las drogas.
Imagina a Juan, un prisionero que ha luchado con el abuso de alcohol. Participa en este programa de un mes, donde aprende sobre hábitos saludables y recibe apoyo de otros que han pasado por lo mismo. Al final, se gradúa y recibe un certificado que le ayuda a conseguir un trabajo al salir de la prisión.
(730 ILCS 145/1) (from Ch. 38, par. 1531) Sec. 1. Short title. This Act shall be known and may be cited as the Illinois Substance Abuse Treatment Program Act. (Source: P.A. 103-154, eff. 6-30-23.) The Substance Abuse Treatment Program shall be established as a one year pilot project to be instituted within the Illinois Department of Corrections in an effort to assist inmates in their rehabilitation from illicit drug and alcohol abuse. The program shall include a thirty day treatment program of highly structured activities to instruct the substance abuser in healthy living skills, dynamics of substance abuse patterns and personalities, and to aid the abuser in a personal inventory of patterns. Peer counselors shall be active in providing support and assistance to the inmates participating in this program. Peer counselors must have successfully graduated from the program demonstrating exceptional participation and healthy leadership ability. Inmates who successfully complete all assignments within the program will be considered graduates. Los prisioneros que están luchando con el abuso de drogas o alcohol pueden participar en este programa de tratamiento.
El programa tiene una duración de treinta días, donde los participantes reciben apoyo y formación.
Los que completan el programa reciben un Certificado de Logro y un Certificado de Guías para una Vida Mejor.
