Explicación Simple

Si registras un vehículo bajo un plan especial y tu registro termina pronto, solo pagas parte de la tarifa anual. Es como si pagas solo por los meses que vas a usar el coche hasta que tengas que registrarlo de nuevo.

Es como si alquilaras un departamento por solo unos meses; no pagas todo el año, solo por el tiempo que realmente vas a estar ahí.

Ejemplo Práctico

Imagina que Juan compra un camión para su empresa en enero, pero su registro anual termina en marzo. Como solo tiene dos meses antes de que deba registrarlo de nuevo, él solo pagará 1/12 de la tarifa anual multiplicado por 2, es decir, la parte correspondiente a esos dos meses.

40-2-157. Payment of fees under International Registration Plan. Any person initially registering under the International Registration Plan any of the vehicles named in subsection (a), (b), or (c) of Code Section 40-2-152 and whose next registration period ends less than 12 months from the date of application or first date of service of such vehicle shall pay a license fee in an amount equal to one-twelfth of the annual license fee provided by this article multiplied by the number of months remaining until the end of such next registration period.
