Si te envían una citación para ir a juicio, debes presentarte en el lugar donde normalmente se realizan esos juicios. A veces, si es más fácil, puedes ir a un lugar cercano donde también se hagan esos juicios.

Es como cuando tienes que ir a una reunión en la escuela. Normalmente, es en tu salón de clase, pero si hay un problema, puede que te digan que vayas a la sala de música si eso es más cómodo.

Ejemplo Práctico

Imagina que Juan recibe una citación porque supuestamente cometió una infracción de tránsito. La citación le indica que debe ir al juzgado del condado donde ocurrió el hecho. Sin embargo, el oficial que le dio la citación y Juan acuerdan que es más fácil que se presente en un juzgado de un condado vecino, donde también se pueden resolver esos casos.

C.R.S. 16-2-108 – Place of appearance and trial The place at which the summons directs the defendant to appear shall be the place at which the court having jurisdiction over the matter customarily sits. It shall be a location at which the county court of the county in which the offense was alleged to have been committed sits regularly unless otherwise provided by this section. If the summons and complaint is issued by a peace officer and served personally upon the defendant by such peace officer, it may direct appearance at a location in which the county court of an adjoining county sits regularly if such a place is agreed to be more convenient by both the peace officer and the defendant. Costs and fines, to the extent provided by law, shall be retained by the county in which the matter is heard.
