Esta ley dice que si un fabricante ya tiene una pistola registrada, puede registrar otras que solo cambien en cosas como el color o el diseño de las empuñaduras. Así, no tiene que volver a hacer todo el trámite para cada modelo parecido.
Es como cuando compras un coche del mismo modelo pero en otro color. Si ya tienes el modelo registrado, solo cambias el color y no necesitas hacer todo el papeleo de nuevo.
Imagina que Juan es un fabricante de armas. Ya tiene una pistola negra registrada. Ahora quiere vender una pistola de color azul que es exactamente igual excepto por el color. Según esta ley, solo necesita demostrar que las diferencias son solo estéticas para que la nueva pistola sea registrada.

Una pistola 'no listada' es aquella que no está registrada oficialmente en la lista de armas permitidas. Esto puede suceder si es una variante de un modelo ya registrado.
Las pistolas pueden diferir en acabados, materiales de las empuñaduras o detalles estéticos, siempre y cuando no alteren su funcionamiento.
Un fabricante debe enviar al Departamento de Justicia el modelo de la pistola ya registrada y el de la nueva, además de una declaración jurada confirmando que las diferencias son solo estéticas.
